The Mandarin orange (Citrus reticulata) is a tropical and sub-tropical tree belonging to the family Rutaceae and is considered a native of south-eastern Asia and the Philippines.

The essential oil is extracted by cold pressing the rinds of the mandarines and the scent is citrusy sweet with a smooth, delicious aroma.
