KOKUM BUTTER

BOTANICAL NAME: Garcinia indica

WHAT IS IT

A hard, brittle and dry butter with a slightly earthy aroma.

Kokum butter is obtained from the seeds of the Garcinia indica tree, which grows in the savannah areas in parts of the Indian subcontinent.

WHERE DO WE GET IT FROM

Our Kokum butter comes from India and is wild harvested from natural forest habitats and fairly traded.

WHY IS IT SO GOOD

Its high content of oleic, palmitic, and stearic acids makes Kokum butter one of the hardest of the natural butters. It has a dry, flaky feel but is quickly absorbed, non-greasy and non-comedogenic (non-clogging) and therefore an excellent alternative to Cocoa butter.

It is celebrated for it’s ability to regenerate skin cells and restore the skins’ elasticity.

Kokom butter is a terrific moisturiser and provides hydration to both skin and hair leaving it soft and silky smooth.

It also possesses excellent anti-oxidant properties due to its high vitamin E content.

Our Kokum butter is wild crafted and fairly traded.
