JOJOBA OIL

BOTANICAL NAME: Simmondsia chinensis

WHAT IS IT

Although commonly referred to as an oil Jojoba is actually a liquid wax.

A light and silky oil with a yellow golden colour, Jojoba oil is mechanically pressed from the seeds of the Simmondsia chinensis, a shrub, which is native to southern Arizona, southern California, and northwestern Mexico.

WHERE DO WE GET IT FROM

Our Jojoba oil comes from Peru and is certified organic by the Soil Association

WHY IS IT SO GOOD

Of more than 350,000 identified plant species, jojoba is the only one which produces significant quantities of liquid wax esters akin to the natural restorative esters human sebaceous glands produce.

A light and silky oil that is highly penetrating and moisturising without leaving an oily feel. Jojoba oil is balancing for the skin, particularly oily skin. High in Myristic acid, jojoba acts a natural anti-inflammatory and is therefore beneficial to problem skin as it will ease redness and blotchiness and other acne related skin problems without clogging the pores.

It contains many different varieties of tocopherols which make up Vitamin E which is well known for promoting healthy and clear skin.

Jojoba oil also has natural anti-oxidant properties which help  protect your skin from the damaging effects of free radicals.

Jojoba oil is also a terrific product for the hair and scalp. It is wonderfully moisturising and penetrates deep into the cortex, helping to keep hair beautifully conditioned.
